Why Do Men Think That Women Want Pictures Of Their Private Body Parts? Expert Says Blame Their Moms!

What is it about men? What is it that makes them think that women want to see pictures of their private body parts? While women may enjoy seeing a great six-pack and a rock solid chest, they really, for the most part, do not find it arousing to see any male body parts that are below the waist. The most recent example of sexting and scandal that has made Anthony Weiner a household name is a case in point. Why did he do it? No clue! Then I decided to ask an expert on the subject. Granted, he is a man, therefore he may have little expertise on any subject, but nevertheless, he does know how men think.
I asked the question. "Why do men think that women want these explicit photos?" The answer was surprising. "It is the fault of their mothers." What??!!! How is that possible? The response made me laugh, at first. Then, being a mother myself, I felt that I had to find out why moms were at fault. I said, "How can that be?" The answer was astounding! I didn't know if it could possibly be true, but here it is; and I quote, " When little boys are toddlers, say 2 or 3, or even 4, and they walk around constantly grabbing themselves, moms laugh. They say to their friends, "How cute is that!" Men always want women to think that they are still cute and still funny, still capable of making them laugh." I replied to this grown man (my son) that when he was little and constantly grabbed himself, I told his father to take him aside and tell him that this was not such a good idea, especially in the middle of the grocery store. His response: "And that is why I don't send pictures of myself to women." I asked if I could quote him and he replied, " Yes!" Then he left the house. Simple. It is the mom's fault! Everything that every adult does is their mom's fault, so why not this, also? Anthony Weiner's mother probably has no idea that she is to blame for her son's recent sexting indiscretions. Someone should let these moms know...
Moms all over the country have no idea that their laughter is a sign of approval. So moms, don't laugh, don't chuckle, and above all, do NOT say, "How cute is that!" when your toddler son grabs his privates, or you, too, will be blamed when your adult son who becomes a Congressman, is found to be sexting.
Men Are Visual, Women Are Not! At Least When It Comes To Explicit!
To men: Yes, we all know that you like pictures of women, both clothed and preferably, unclothed. Women, on the other hand, do NOT! They do not think it is funny, cute, or particularly arousing. There is a difference between a toddler and an adult. What is cute or funny when you are 2, is not so cute or funny when you are 30, 40, 50, or God forbid, 60!
To women: When you have a son, make sure that someone (a male would be advisable) tells that son that grabbing himself in the middle of the grocery store is not appropriate. If you don't, it will be all your fault!

My almost 3 year old grandson thinks the same. I won't, however, roll over as quickly as you. I get blamed for enough things as a mom. I refuse to get blamed as a grandma, too! Or at least they could be a little respectful and not blame me until I am long gone; then I don't have to hear it! Unless of course, they come up with a way to Tweet whichever place I end up; then it will be non-stop abuse, I am sure!
The main problem with men is that they still think that they are cute and funny as they grow up! Maybe funny, but not so cute!
lol I have to admit I laughed, but I laways made sure my son understood that was not appropriate in public. I don't think you can blame mom's. I think it is some men just think it turns on women, and like you I feel it is not appropriate, and really turns me off! I rather not talk to the guy again. No matter how nice he is, just there are some things I don't need to know, unless it is my significant other. Lord, I think I'd have to have serious talk with my son if he ever does that in the future. lol

I actually talked about this with my son(had to force him-he hates talking to me about things like this) again tonight. He is in his early 30's and has many friends that have young sons. He told me that his opinion was not based on what I did or how I reacted when he was young, but, instead based his view on what he says he sees quite often.
Plus, he likes to give me crap or get a rise out of me. He thinks he is hysterically funny and I must admit, he did inherit his dad's sense of humor.
Some men do think it turns women on or they would not be sending the pictures. They are idiots! When I was young, I dated a Chippendale's dancer. He was gorgeous, but while on stage, the men never took off all of their clothes. I think if they had, they would not have been so popular. That is probably the difference. Men may just think that women think the same way they do, when we don't. It is probably part of the whole "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" psychology.

Hi Jillian, Unfortunately men assume that women are driven to sex by sexual things, like exposing yourself. After all if a women takes her top off in the bar isn't she asking for it? To be fair not all guys are hooked on this as a way to get off. This man is an embarrassment to the male gender, the Democratic Party and Congress, in general. Yet he has the nerve to tell the world he won't step down when he gets caught with his britches down? There is that fine line between eroticism and vulgarity, most of us know the latter when we see it

You are right, of course. Men and women are just different. I fell in love with my husband because he made me laugh--constantly--. Even if I was sobbing hysterically about something, within seconds he would have me laughing just as hard. Women love funny! I don't know why, but we do. My son grew up with 3 women. His dad died when he was 6 and his sisters were 10 and 4. Two sisters and me, poor guy! He jokes all the time that even the dogs and cats were female! Maybe alot of mothers don't convey to their sons what women are like in terms of anything but being a cook, a maid and a caretaker.
My son could be correct in a way. I don't know too many moms that actually tell their sons that kindness, humor, honesty and integrity are the things that women really want. Maybe if we all really talked honestly to our sons, we could all end up being from the same planet. Thanks, Peter!

Congressman Weiner has pissed me off! He has always been such a fighter! He has been a Democrat that I wanted as my own Congressman because he never backed down and he has been very vocal in his support of things I believe in. I won't tell him to resign, but I think that his stupidity and deception may forever ruin his effectiveness as an advocate. He is 45 years old and I have no clue what led him to do this. I am really disappointed because he now leaves a void, regardless of whether he steps down. I can't defend him, period.

I will never forget that during the height of the Women's Movement during the early '70's, men were amazed that someone who was "pretty" was a key leader of the movement. I was a teenager at the time and she, Betty Friedan and Bella Abzug had such an impact on my thinking.
Then in the late '80's, she actually steered me towards an attorney from NOW that handled my mother's divorce. I haven't thought about her in several years. Thank you so much for reminding me of her quote and more importantly, for reminding me of her. You have made me smile!

Scandals just distract us from the important issues we face
The whole "Wiener" debacle is a sad tale that finds a man caught between his wiener and a soft place...that has become very hard for him.
The sad truth of this obvious obsession by a man who has only been married for a year is the continuous need for the thrill of the hunt.
This isn't difficult stuff to understand. You can't blame his mother. He, like so many politicians, preachers, community leaders and average joes before him--need to feel the thrill of some delusional connection to "the chase."
Men have been doing this for time immemorial, which is why there were so many concubines and harems.
This is just another sad distraction for the American public to waste time, effort, television waves and opinions in order to dismiss the real issues that plague our planet.
It's a sad day for wieners everywhere, but honestly, where's the meat in this story?

Exactly! Blame moms! My son was being funny and knew that he would make me laugh, even when it isn't really a laughable thing. People rarely want to be accountable or blame their own shortcomings on themselves. We do have too many issues to waste on this sad commentary...

I think it is a very small subset of the male population that imagines his genitalia are a turn on to women. Most of us know it is just plain stupid and mom has nothing to do with the lack of maturity for those that flaunt their package. Having an affair is understandable if not especially desirable, flaunting body parts is just plain stupid and should require the immediate admission to a mental institution for not less than one year.
That chap might want to blame his Mom, Jillian, but I doubt if it would stand up in court.

When my mother was young, she worked as an aide at the famed Willowbrook, which was a mental facility in NY. The young boys and men would constantly flash her and all of the other female workers. You reminded me of that fact. When I was a young teenager, I was the victim of a flasher. I cried for days, but then I was only 14 and had spent my young years in Catholic schools, sheltered from everything. I must admit, my mother used to tell me that when a man does something like that, he needs to be in a mental hospital. You may be on to something!

I personally like seeing the male body but still find it offensive for guys to send women pictures of themselves naked without an invitation.
I fail to see the correlation between thinking a young boy naked as cute and him wanting to send nude images of himself over the Internet. I think it has more to do with them thinking most women want what they want which is naked pictures. They don't realize women are wired differently.

We are wired differently! I think I must explain. My son thinks it is funny that everyone always blames moms for every indiscretion their children are part of. It is something that we laugh about all the time. Sometimes I will say to him, "Did I cause this?" He laughs, because he knows that as a mom (maybe a slightly neurotic one), I feel guilt about almost everything. He will say to me, "No, you did not cause the earthquake half way around the world, mom!"
He knew that telling me that moms cause bad behavior by men would get a reaction from me.
I like a great male body as much as most women. In one of my comments, I mentioned that I dated a Chippendale's dancer. Too bad he was a schmuck, because he was quite gorgeous! Have always had a thing for firefighters, too! I may be in my 50's, but I must say, I am a fan of those firefighter calendars!
When the paramedics had to come to take me to the hospital a few months ago, I was humiliated that I looked so sick! Probably because I was, but still...the vanity is still there! Even as a grandma!

I am guilty of many things regarding my sons. I have no idea if they send nekkid pictures. A mother is the last to know about some things. Thank God.

Ummm, whenever I send a jpg I have to include a magnifying glass and it has to be a 15 megapixel camera.
If I had a nickel for everytime a woman asked to see my johnson I would be a wealthy man! Sexting seems to be the "in" thing these days. If you are a healthy sexually active young man, you prob keep a flattering photo of your favourite toy saved on your phone ... just in case.

I like to see pictures of my BF when he is far away from me. It keeps the relationship fresh, keeps the sex appeal alive, and keeps the sexual intimacy alive.
I don't want to see pictures if I have never seen the live thing before. Some guys find this appropriate. I think the two things are very different.
